Learn more about autonomous cloud management and how to optimize for cost and performance.

What is Sedai?

Sedai is an autonomous cloud management platform powered by AI/ML that delivers continuous optimization for cloud operations teams to maximize cloud cost savings, performance, and availability at scale.
Sedai independently detects, prioritizes, and analyzes data to identify opportunities to safely act in production, as well as provide deep contextual performance insights. The platform continuously learns from behavior to evolve its intelligence models by evaluating outcomes and improving its ability to detect unhealthy symptoms early on. Sedai enables teams to shift from static rules and threshold-based automation to modern ML-based autonomous operations.
Sedai is designed to help cloud teams focus their time and effort on innovation by shifting workflows from static rules and threshold-based automation to modern ML-based autonomous operations.

How it Works

  • Discover: Sedai securely connects to cloud environments and imports supported compute, storage, and/or streaming resources. It also automatically ingests your monitoring data and identifies and prioritizes the "Golden Signals" (latency, error, traffic, and saturation) to train its ML models.
  • Analyze: Sedai builds a baseline for predictive analytics within 14 days of integration. By analyzing monitoring metrics, traffic patterns, and resource dependencies, Sedai assesses initial performance trends and determines expected resource performance based on seasonality. This in-depth analysis informs its decision models to detect unhealthy symptoms early on without manual thresholds. It also generates potential savings from cost optimizations.
  • Act: Sedai leverages its in-depth analysis of performance behavior to identify opportunities to reduce cloud cost, improve latency, and prevent availability issues. Sedai's rigorous safety checks ensure that it only generates actions if it has sufficient confidence and can guarantee safe execution within production.
  • Learn: Sedai analyzes the efficacy of its autonomous actions on seasonality trends and performance behavior to continuously learn and evolve its intelligence models.
Sedai works best in production environments with consistent traffic and usage so it can continuously learn from performance behavior. If you're not sure if your environment has sufficient performance data, we recommend emailing [email protected] to discuss your goals with Sedai.

Key Features

Augmented FinOps

Cost Insights: Explore your cloud spend and create budgets to track your current and projected expenses. View forecast spend and recommended savings plan commitments to minimize your monthly costs.

Autonomous Cloud Management

  • Optimization: Continuously optimize compute, storage, and streaming resources based on your cost and performance goals.
  • Availability management: Remediate performance issues for compute resources as soon as symptoms are detected to avoid downtime, errors, and FCIs.
  • Release Intelligence: Review a summary of changes in cost, latency, and error rate between compute resources' releases and get fast insight into release trends.
  • Service Level Objectives: Track autonomously defined latency and error rate targets for compute resources.

Sedai currently only supports AWS billing accounts for Augmented FinOps
Sedai currently supports the following cloud/monitoring providers for its autonomous cloud management capabilities:

Supported Cloud Providers

  • Amazon Web Services (AWS), including:
    • Compute: Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), Elastic Container Service (ECS), Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS), Fargate, Lambda Serverless Functions
    • Storage: Elastic Block Store (EBS), Simple Storage Service (S3)
  • Google Cloud Platform, including:
    • Compute: Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE)
    • Streaming: Dataflow BETA
  • Microsoft Azure, including
    • Compute: Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Virtual Machines (VMs)
  • Self-managed or hosted Kubernetes clusters
    • Compute: Stateless workloads (autonomous management), Stateful workloads (recommendations only)
Sedai's optimal outputs are based on ongoing analysis of traffic patterns and usage. We recommend connecting production environments to best understand how autonomous management can help your team. You can try out autonomous operations at your own by pace by modifying Sedai's settings to run in either recommend or autonomous mode.

Supported Monitoring Providers

  • AppDynamics
  • Azure Monitor
  • CloudWatch (by default, Sedai automatically connects to CloudWatch when you connect an AWS account)
  • Chronosphere
  • Datadog
  • Elasticsearch
  • Google Cloud Monitoring
  • Netdata
  • New Relic
  • Prometheus
  • SignalFX
