Sedai directly supports multiple FinOps Foundation domains, including:

  • Optimizing Cloud Usage & Cost: Sedai supports two key domain capabilities: Resource Optimization and Rate Optimization. By leveraging advanced machine learning algorithms, Sedai autonomously identifies and delivers cloud cost savings while ensuring performance and availability requirements are met. The platform optimizes workload and infrastructure behavior, including horizontal and vertical scaling for container workloads, to meet compute needs with minimal capacity. Sedai also optimizes storage resources to ensure minimal costs. Moreover, Sedai's approach to purchasing optimization, which evaluates container purchasing options such as on-demand and savings plans, ensures that organizations are buying the proper infrastructure at the lowest cost.

  • Quantifying Business Value: Sedai's Augmented FinOps capability helps organizations estimate and forecast cloud needs using past cloud cost, impact, and usage data. Sedai's budget feature helps teams decrease the probability of budgetary overrun, while the Impact feature (in private beta) helps organizations calculate the business value of their cloud optimizations based on objective measurements.

Support for FOCUS Datasets

Sedai supports the FinOps Foundation's FOCUS (FinOps Open Cost and Usage Specification) project to ensure datasets provide a unified approach to cloud billing data. With Sedai, you can explore your cloud spend, create and track budgets, and view opportunities to save more with savings plans recommendations. To get started, you will need access to your billing account's cost and usage reports (CUR).
