Sedai's optimization capabilities are focused on continuously improving the cost efficiency and performance of your cloud resources. The system analyzes and adjusts (with your permission) compute, storage, and streaming resources, and ensures that your cloud infrastructure is always aligned with your organization's cost and performance goals. The platform leverages machine learning models to identify inefficiencies, such as underutilized resources or suboptimal configurations, and takes corrective actions to rightsize resources, optimize compute configurations, and adjust scaling policies. This not only reduces unnecessary cloud spend but also enhances the performance and availability of your applications, enabling your team to focus on innovation rather than manual resource management.
Sedai analyzes your cloud resources and generates optimization opportunities to improve resource efficiency and decrease costs. You can review these potential optimizations in the Opportunities page in the platform and choose to submit a one-time optimization to apply optimal resource configurations. At any point, you can set resources to Autopilot in Resource Settings for automated and continuous resource optimization. Any cost savings or performance improvements achieved through optimizations will show in the Savings page.
Sedai's three operational modes offers varying levels of control when using this feature:
🤖 Autopilot
Sedai proactively detects optimization opportunities, automatically determines the best course of action, and executes changes on your behalf. This mode is designed for teams looking to fully leverage Sedai's capabilities to maximize efficiency and minimize manual intervention. It's important to note that the system only acts after passing rigorous safety checks to ensure that no changes will negatively impact resource availability or performance. This mode is ideal for organizations that trust the platform's decision-making and want to focus their efforts on innovation rather than routine cloud management tasks.
🧑✈️ Copilot
This mode allows Sedai to make recommendations based on its analysis, but requires human approval before any actions are taken. The system will identify an opportunity and generate a detailed recommendation, then notify you to review and approve the action for Sedai to execute. This mode is suitable for teams that want to maintain oversight and control over cloud operations while still benefiting from Sedai's advanced analysis and automation capabilities. Copilot is ideal for teams transitioning to a more autonomous approach but still requires a level of human verification.
📈 Datapilot
This mode enables Sedai to monitor cloud resources, analyze performance metrics, and predict optimization opportunities without taking any direct action. You can review insights and potential configurations and decide if you want to manually implement them outside of Sedai. Datapilot is designed for teams that want to retain full control over cloud operations, using Sedai as a powerful decision-support tool. This mode is particularly useful for organizations that are new to autonomous cloud management or have stringent compliance requirements that necessitate manual intervention.

The Opportunities page includes potential resource optimizations and their corresponding cost savings. Opportunities are listed for resources that are not set to autonomous, which you can review and optionally choose to submit for one-time autonomous execution. This page may also include opportunities for resources that are set to autonomous yet require additional review because of insufficient traffic, error, or latency metrics.
In this page, you can compare your current spend to your estimated savings, and you can achieve potential savings by executing opportunities. Sedai categorizes resource optimization opportunities by resource type (containers, serverless, storage, etc.) and will list accounts with opportunities under each tab accordingly. Select an account to review opportunities within it.
Once you're within an account, peruse a list of resources and select a specific one to see opportunity details (such as resource allocation changes) and supporting analysis (such as traffic, error, and latency metrics).
The Savings page allows you to view completed optimizations for your resources and their corresponding cost savings and performance improvements. Optionally filter by resource type, and select an individual resource to see its optimization history, resource allocation changes, and cost and/or performance impact.
